Michael, alongside one Mr Patrick Eboigbodin, an aide to former Governor Lucky Igbinedion were dragged before a federal high court in Benin city on an 81 count charge bordering on money laundering said to be carried out while Lucky Igbinedion was still governor of Edo state.

Michael Igbinedion, the younger brother of Lucky Igbinedion, a former governor of Edo state, was today, 29th of April, convicted by a Federal High Court in Benin in a N25 billion money laundering case instituted against him and five others by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC.
