<b> By now, you’ve surely heard that Kylie and Tyga’s barely

</b></div>
<a name='more'></a><b> According to <a href="http://www.tmz.com/2015/11/20/kylie-tyga-break-up-ego/" target="_blank">TMZ</a>,
it all came down to a popularity contest between the two: Kylie and Tyga could not co-exist because their relationship
became an unrelenting test of who was more important … at least that’s the way
Tyga sees it. Sources connected with Tyga tell us, he was battling Kylie
almost daily over who should kowtow to who when there was a scheduling
conflict. They were fighting over which events they’d attend together, which
required one of them to scrap their plans.</b><br />
<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;">
<b> Tyga is telling friends the Kardashians fueled the conflict
because Kylie would complain about him and the family would stoke the coals by
telling her that her career was far more important than his.Tyga’s people say this did not come to a head Thursday …
it’s been brewing for weeks.Apparently, the Kardashians don’t see it the same way … our
K sources say Tyga did something to trigger the breakup, and Kylie’s the one
who pulled the plug.</b></div>

Former president Olusegun Obasanjo has once again fired
shots at President Jonathan saying he has mismanaged the country in the last
8years. Obasanjo made this statement when the Iyalode of Yoruba land, Chief
Alaba Lawson, led a delegation of South-West women leaders on a visit to his
Hilltop residence in Abeokuta. He however pleaded with Nigerians not to expect
an instant miracle from Buhari, but there will definitely be a change at the
right time, because what has been destroyed in the last 8years cannot be undone
overnight. His words after the cut.</div>

“The country had been poorly managed in the last eight years
and it would take some time for Buhari’s government to correct the anomalies.
But I want to tell him not to be frightened. What I would say is that we should
all put our minds at rest. He (Buhari) is someone that will perform but we must
exercise patience because what has been destroyed for eight years cannot be
undone overnight.</div>

“But like the Chinese proverb which says the journey of a
thousand miles starts with a step, it is not only the first step (that matters)
but the first step in the right direction because if you take a wrong step,
you’re not likely to get to the destination.</div>

<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;">
“When I came in 1999, there was no fuel and power. The situation
was like this and I thought we have put that one behind us. The man that is
coming on board has a lot of experience in terms of governance. He is not a
novice in governance having ruled the country as a military Head of State from
1983 to 1985. Nigerians need to exercise patience because what has been
destroyed in eight years cannot be rebuilt in a day,” he stated again.</div>

The police in Lagos State, western Nigeria, have arrested a 52-year old woman
identified as Mrs. Olamide Bello for allegedly buying twin babies for N1.9
million.According to, the suspect who resides at Adeniji Street, Meiran, a
suburb of Lagos State, with her husband and step-children, told her husband,
Mr. Wasiu Bello, that she was pregnant and that she has been instructed to go
and deliver of the baby in Port Harcourt, the Rivers State capital in southern
Nigeria.</div>
<a name='more'></a><a href="https://www.blogger.com/null" name="more"></a><br />
<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;">
<o:p> </o:p>Mrs. Bello was alleged to have spent two weeks in Port
Harcourt before returning to Lagos with twin babies, a boy and a girl, claiming
that she gave birth to them. Curious neighbours who never saw her with pregnancy prior to
her trip to Port Harcourt alerted the police at Alakuko, alleging that they
suspected that the woman may have stolen the babies.</div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;">
<o:p> </o:p>Sources said the Divisional Police Officer in charge of
Alakuko Police Station, Mr. Musa Alimi, a Chief Superintendent of Police, CSP,
instructed some female detectives to investigate the allegation. P.M.News learnt that when Mrs. Bello was confronted by the
female detectives, she insisted that she gave birth to the twins and also
suggested the police should take her to a medical doctor to confirm her claim. It was at the hospital that doctors confirmed that she is
not the biological mother of the babies.</div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;">
At that point she had to confess that she bought the babies
in Port Harcourt for N1.9 million. When her husband, Mr. Wasiu Bello, was arrested and
interrogated, he told the police that his wife told him that she was pregnant
and wanted to go and deliver of the baby in Port Harcourt. He said he obliged only for her to come back with the babies
claiming she gave birth to twins. He dissociated himself from the crime.</div>

mother of all battles in your life. You know how hard and how long you have
fought for this and now that you have it, we can’t wait to see how our lives
will change!</div>
<br />
<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;">
You must understand that our expectations are high, but you
can't blame us too much. By faith or design, you have become a symbol of
renaissance for a nation that has been battered by mismanagement and
unprecedented corruption. Kai! Odiegwu!<a href="https://www.blogger.com/null" name="more"></a></div>

Many of us were sold on your Change Campaign, tired of the usual statuesque and
many more just wanted a better life for ourselves and our loved ones. All eyes
are on you, I trust you know that by now. This Change should demonstrate to us
possibilities, hope again for the youths of this country and a channeling back
to those core values which we hold sacred. Anything less will be same of the
same. Shey you get?</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Fact from fiction, truth from rhetoric, I know that it is fool hardy to expect
that one individual alone can by himself/herself bring about this Change we
desperately need and earnestly desire. However, inasmuch as you need to raise a
viable team to work with, using the formula of zoning won't cut it. My
earnest advice to you is to choose officers and men strictly on merit and not
necessarily what geopolitical zone they come from. Remember, this same zoning
formula has been used at different times in this country, and each time, it has
failed. The issue of zoning coming up now again is a reminder of times in the
past that we desperately want to forget. Same of the same?</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
I would want to believe that you have come to heal and fix the rot. It will never be easy because of the wolves and sharks amongst us who benefit
big time from the corruption, the poverty, the confusion and hopelessness they
inflict on Nigerians.So after May 29th, as you put on your boxing gloves and
crank your whip, we will be watching with bathed breath to see not only the
will to fight this battle but the sincerity and strategies to lead us on the
path of true healing for our broken Nation. Biko.</div>

genitals for that matter…. We also encourage those who had been living with the
virus to go to the nearest public hospitals to get their status tatted in,” he

An <a href="http://www.lrb.co.uk/v37/n10/seymour-m-hersh/the-killing-of-osama-bin-laden">expose
published on Sunday</a> alleges that President Obama deceived Americans with
his narrative of the 2011 assassination of Osama bin Laden.</div>
<a name='more'></a><br />
<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;">
Author Seymour M. Hersh accuses Obama of rushing to take
credit for the al Qaeda leader's death. This decision, Hersh argues in the London Review of Books,
forced the military and intelligence communities to scramble and then
corroborate the president’s version of events.“High-level lying nonetheless remains the modus operandi of
U.S. policy, along with secret prisons, drone attacks, Special Forces night
raids, bypassing the chain of command, and cutting out those who might say no,”
Hersh wrote of the Obama administration’s counter terrorism policies.</div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;">
Hersh based his report on a single, anonymous source. This
individual, he said, is a “retired senior intelligence official who was
knowledgeable about the initial intelligence about bin Laden’s presence in
Abottabad.”Hersh’s source alleged that the Pakistani government had an
active role in approving and implementing the raid on bin Laden’s compound.</div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;">
In addition, the source said that the Obama administration
originally agreed to announce bin Laden had been killed in a drone strike
rather than shot during an active Special Forces mission. “Obama’s speech was put together in a rush,” Hersh wrote of
Obama’s announcement of Operation Neptune Spear to Americans. “This series of self-serving and inaccurate statements would
create chaos in the weeks following,” he added. “This was not the fog of war,” Hersh quoted his anonymous
source as saying. “The fact that there was an agreement with the Pakistanis
and no contingency analysis of what was to be disclosed if something went wrong
– that wasn’t even discussed,” the source added.</div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;">
“And once it went wrong, they had to make up a new cover
story on the fly,” the source said of Obama’s advisers’ response to his speech
on the raid, Hersh wrote. Hersh’s report also accuses the Obama administration
of embellishing the details of the raid itself and presenting al Qaeda as a
bigger threat than it actually was before bin Laden’s death. The White House did not comment on Hersh’s claims.</div>

While many Nigerians may have known visa fees of different
European and American countries, not many take interest in what the country
charges other nationals for the document. </div>
<a name='more'></a><br />
<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;">
But the fact is that the Nigerian Immigration Service has a
long list of the fees on its website, indicating clearly the differences in
terms of countries, the visa type and number of entries. </div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
If what the NIS displays on the website is anything to go
by, nationals of Mauritania, Monaco, Morroco, New Zealand, Panama, Uruguay,
Venezuela, Ecuador, Peru, Burma, Dominican, Chile and Colombia are charged
between N100 and N 200 for a single-entry Nigerian visa. For those applying for
multiple entries, the fee is multiplied by the number </div>
<a href="https://www.blogger.com/null" name="more"><div style="text-align: justify;">
of entries they are seeking. </div>
</a><br />
<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;">
Weighed against the current exchange rate, it implies that a
Nigerian visa is still going for half a dollar or a little above that. </div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Applicants from the United States are charged the highest.
They pay N14,000 for either a single or multiple-entry visa.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Russia and other former members of the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics are
next to the US, and a visa application from the region attracts N10,500. </div>
<br />
<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;">
A traveller from the United Kingdom, who is applying for a
single-entry Nigerian visa, pays N9,700, whereas a multiple-visa applicant is
charged N16,200. </div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;">
Interestingly, UK nationals picking up temporary employment
in Nigeria pay N9,700, which is less than what their multiple-visa counterparts
are charged. A British woman married to a Nigerian has the option of
obtaining an “indefinite” visa at N40,800, according to the NIS’s fee
schedule. </div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;">
Most European countries, such as Finland, France, Germany,
Greece, Italy, Portugal, Romania, Belgium and Spain, pay a little above N6,000
for a single-visa application. Multiple-entry visa application fee in most of
the listed countries is N9,000 plus. </div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;">
Based on the fact that the immigration service deals with
many people in different parts of the world, it is expected that the facts
presented on its website are valid as this is a major platform where potential
visitors to Nigeria can access it. </div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;">
Many Nigerian establishments have, however, yet to embrace
online operation as an essential part of their corporate integrity. Hence, what
such organisations, especially federal ministries, departments and agencies,
tag new information are, in some cases, one or more years stale. </div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;">
Even the NIS is not free from the practice, which visitors
find worrisome. For instance, what the Service calls “news”, as of Sunday, is a
notice of a recruitment exercise examination that was to be held on March 15,
2014 in the 36 states of the federation and the Federal Capital
Territory. </div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;">
Also, a document by the Service says it has in the past 10
years cancelled no fewer than 1,288 passports. </div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;">
But an Internet search by our correspondent shows that the
list has not been upgraded since August 2013 when it was uploaded despite a
promise that it would be “updated regularly.” This is apart from the fact no
reason is given for the cancelation. This, indeed, leaves visitors in the dark
as to the number of the ‘green-back’ that have been cancelled in the past two
years. </div>
<br />
<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;">
An online document obtained from the NIS portal on Sunday
also says it started compiling the list in 2005. There is nothing anywhere on
the site to show the updated status of the two-year-old document.</div>

The police in Lagos have launched a manhunt for an Assistant
Superintendent of Police, identified simply as Mohammed, who allegedly shot
dead a tricycle driver, Akeem Aranse, during an argument in the Shasha,
Akowonjo area.</div>
<a name='more'></a><br />
<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;">
PUNCH Metro learnt that Mohammed, who is attached to the Disaster
Management Unit of the Department of Operations, Lagos State Police Command
headquarters, Ikeja, moved out of his apartment on Unity Close, Egbeda, shortly
after the incident. Our correspondent learnt that Mohammed had boarded a
commercial motorcycle(okada) which was hit by the tricyle operator on Kareem
Laka Street in the Egbeda area.</div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;">
It was gathered that the incident led to an argument which
degenerated into the killing of the tricycle driver by the ASP.</div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;">
Eyewitnesses explained that some passersby had tried to
settle the skirmish but the police officer remained adamant.</div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;">
The officer was said to have eventually brought out his
pistol and shot the tricycle driver.</div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;">
Thirty-one-year-old Akeem, who was said to have been shot in
the chest, reportedly died on the spot.</div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;">
Our correspondent learnt that the matter was reported to
policemen at the Shasha division.</div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;">
When PUNCH Metro visited Akeem’s rented apartment on Nusiratu
Street, Akowonjo, on Saturday, his tricycle was seen parked outside the house,
while friends and neighbours still discussed the incident.</div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;">
His elder brother, Sulaimon, said Akeem was planning to
visit his wife and only child in Ibadan, Oyo State, when he was killed. He
added that the death was a shock to the family.</div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;">
He said, “We had been living together in this house since he
was a boy. We both came from our hometown in the Itesiwaju Local Government
Area of Oyo State to work in Lagos. He used to visit his family in Ibadan every
three weeks. He was planning to go again this weekend when the tragic incident
occurred.</div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;">
“I was at a friend’s place when I was called about the
incident. It was very shocking. Akeem did not have a record of street fighting
or violence. He was said to have apologised to the police officer, who was not
in uniform, but the man still shot him. The police have taken his corpse to a
morgue in Yaba.</div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;">
“The extended family members would be expecting him in
Ibadan, but we have told his wife about the incident.”</div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;">
Our correspondent gathered that the police had gone to the
ASP’s house, but all efforts to get him had not yielded any result.</div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;">
Speaking with PUNCH Metro, the Chairman, Tricycle Drivers’
Association in Shasha Akowonjo, Mr. Isiaka Yekini, said the union would work
with the police at the State Criminal Investigation Department to get the
suspect.</div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;">
He said, “We have been invited by the SCID to come on Monday
(today) for questioning.</div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;">
“When the incident happened, one of our members trailed the
ASP to his apartment on Unity Close. He has, however, fled the house.</div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;">
“It was at about 6.30pm on that day that I received a phone
call that one of our members had been shot dead. It was very shocking.”</div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;">
It was learnt that motorcycle drivers led a delegation to
the Shasha Police Division on Wednesday to protest Akeem’s murder.</div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;">
The Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Kenneth Nwosu,
confirmed the incident, adding that the police were intensifying efforts to
arrest the ASP.</div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;">
He said, “We have identified the policeman, but he has been
on the run. We are making efforts to arrest him.</div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<br />
<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;">
“His action is alien to the police culture. It is not in
line with the vision and mission of the Lagos State Police Command.”</div>

“The significant achievements in several sectors attest to
this. We cannot take away the fact that the Jonathan administration, in spite
of the challenges caused by 50 per cent decline in the price of oil, has made a
clear and measurable difference in many important areas and anyone who says
nothing has been done and nothing is being left behind is being very unfair to

President Goodluck Jonathan has given an insight into the
fate that awaits him and his ministers after May 29, saying he believes they
will be persecuted.He stated on Sunday during a thanksgiving and farewell
service organised in his honour at the Cathedral Church of the Advent, Life

decisions” his administration took while in office.</div>

<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;">
Jonathan told the congregation that he understood clearly
that “ hard decisions” had their own cost and was therefore ready to pay any
price for them He said that experience had shown him that people would at a
time desert anybody who took “hard decisions” like he did while in office.Jonathan added that he had always believed that more of his
friends would desert him after May 29.</div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;">
<o:p> </o:p>The President recalled the story of the last ruler of
apartheid South Africa, Frederik de Klerk, who was divorced by his wife for
accepting to abolish minority rule in the country, and said jokingly that he
hoped his wife, Patience, would not also divorce him after the end of his
tenure on May 29. Beaming with smiles, Mrs. Jonathan, who on March 16 declared
that she was not ready to feed her husband in prison, replied with a shout of
“Nooooo.”Her response was greeted with a loud applause by
congregation members.The President said, “I believe there are reasons for
everything. Some hard decisions have their own cost; and there is no doubt
about that.</div>

<o:p> </o:p>“That I have run the government this way that stabilised
certain things, the electoral process and other things that brought stability
to this country. They are very costly decisions which I must be ready to pay
for. “Some people come to me and say this or that person, is he
not your friend that benefitted? Is it not your government that this person
benefitted from? But this is what the person is saying.“But I used to say that worse statements will come. If you
take certain decisions, you should know that those close to you will even
abandon you at some point.</div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;">
<o:p> </o:p>“And I tell them that more of my so-called friends will
disappear. When de Klerk took the decision to abolish minority rule in South
Africa, even his wife divorced him. I hope my wife will not divorce me. But
that is the only decision that has made South Africa to be a global player now.
If they still have minority rule, by this time, nobody will be talking about
them. “If you take certain decisions, it might be good for many
but it might affect others differently. So, for ministers and aides who served
with me, I sympathise with them because they will be persecuted. They must be
ready for persecution.</div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;">
<o:p> </o:p>“Quoting Tai Solarin, may your ways be rough, I say to my
ministers, I wish you what I wish myself. They will have hard times, we will
all have hard times. Our ways will be rough.”Jonathan however said he was happy that ordinary Nigerians
appreciated what he did and that, according to him, is most important.He said it was not what the elite talk about or say about
his administration that mattered to him but what the majority of the Nigerians
felt about his actions and inactions.</div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;">
The President expressed delight that he came to Abuja with
his family peacefully and was leaving peacefully.Jonathan also looked back at all the benefits that had came
his way as a Nigerian, saying he was ready to pay the supreme price for the
nation.He said considering what God had done in his life, he wished
he could dance like the biblical King David.Jonathan said, “I want to thank God for what he has done for
me and my family. I wish to dance more than David, if I tried to dance, I
missed my steps.“I have all the reasons to thank God. Very few of those in
my age bracket have been that lucky. All through my education, I was on
government scholarship. I have not suffered lack not because I am hardworking,
but it has been God’s grace.</div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;">
<o:p> </o:p>“When I look at the whole picture of my life up to when I
became the President of this country, I say that if soldiers and policemen that
have not received 0.5 per cent of the benefits that I have had from the state
can lay down their lives for this country, I should do anything in the interest
of Nigeria, including paying the supreme price.“As long as live, I will continue to do my best for the
state because the state has helped me as a person. “I have to thank Nigerians, especially the people of my
state(Bayelsa) for giving me the opportunity to serve as deputy governor. I
thank all Nigerians who gave me the opportunity to serve as Vice President and
President. I had their support to complete the tenure of the late
president(Umaru Yar’Adua) and later serve as President from which I am exiting
now as a very happy and fulfilled man.”</div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;">
<o:p> </o:p>The President also thanked the church for standing by him
even at his most difficult times.He said even on the March 28 presidential election which he
lost to Buhari, there were many people who supported him nationwide.Jonathan promised to continue to pray for the country and
the incoming government of Muhammadu Buhari .He said that Buhari won the March 28 election because God
wanted it to be so.The President added, “Even for the election, we had people
who supported us all over the country but things went the way they did because
God wanted them that way for a purpose.“We will continue to pray for the peace of the country and
for the success of the incoming administration.“When the country is in good shape, people benefit. When
things are going well, people are happy. You don’t need to know Mr. President
or Mr. Governor.</div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;">
<o:p> </o:p>“The issue is not about Jonathan or Buhari or any other
person. The issue is how the government functions in terms of stability and a
buoyant economy that will enable Nigerians to move forward and live happily.
That is our interest; that is my prayer point. “All religious groups should pray for the country.”Jonathan thereafter requested that his favourite him, “Stand
by me” be sang again.He said apart from inspiring him, the hymn “makes him to be
aware of the fact that whatever one does, there will always be storms.”Earlier, a former Minister of Information, Jerry Gana, said
Jonathan was favoured by God in many ways.Gana thanked God for what Jonathan was able to achieve
during his tenure.</div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;">
<o:p> </o:p>The former minister, who headed the President’s fundraising
committee during electioneering , said “Jonathan is a man of favour. He is
highly favoured by God. We thank God for what He has done for Nigeria through
him.“Despite the big positions he occupied in the country, he
has remained humble and he has succeeded in deepening democracy in the country.“He revived the rail system; he brought back hope to Nigeria
and to cap it all; he conceded defeat to his opponent in a heroic manner.”The Minister of Power, Chinedu Nebo, also praised the
President while reeling out some of his unique qualities and achievements in
office.He said, “He (Jonathan) is humane, gentle and unassuming. He
has transformed Nigeria. He is not vindictive. He loves the youth. He
empowered, mentored and motivated youths and women.“He is a listening leader. He listens to everyone in the
Federal Executive Council before passing judgment. He fixed the electoral
process and brought credibility to it. He is Nigeria’s greatest leader.”</div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;">
<o:p> </o:p>In his sermon entitled, “Thanksgiving,” the Primate of the
Church of Nigeria, Anglican Communion, Most Revd. Nicholas Okoh, said although
Jonathan was leaving office as President, the world would still need his
services in different capacities.Okoh said leaving office at this time did not translate to
the fact that Jonathan had expired.He explained that what happened to the President was that he
had graduated into a class of statesmen and women.Turning to the President, the clergyman said, “You have
graduated and entered the distinguished class of statesmen and women.“In your
new office, you are a peacemaker. Nigeria, Africa, the black world and the
world will need you. You are relevant; you have just started; you have not
expired.”</div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;">
<o:p> </o:p>He recalled that at the inception of his administration,
Jonathan did a similar thing by giving thanks to God. Okoh thanked God for the President’s contributions to the
growth of the country, adding that some of the projects he initiated had been
completed while others are at advanced stages. He said, “Whatever stage the projects may be, generations
yet unborn will read about Jonathan that he governed from so so time to so so
time. “It will be studied by our children in history books. So, we
should thank God. “Again, you are leaving the (Presidential) Villa alive. Only
God knows what would have happened. There is nothing greater than life.“We give thanks for what God did through you in your
distressed situation. Your humility saved lives and our enemies were
disappointed. There were many people who came and pretended to be your friends,
but were sadists. They came with cameras recording, but were disappointed.</div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;">
“What God is doing in your life you may not understand, it
might take years, but you need to be patient to understand because deeper
meaning of the event will unfold later.” Nigerians misunderstood Jonathan’s calmness –Okupe Meanwhile, the Senior Special Adviser to the President on
Public Affairs, Doyin Okupe, has said Nigerians misunderstood the President’s
calmness for indecisiveness. Okupe, on his facebook page on Sunday, said “In a few days,
President Jonathan will bow out of office gracefully and graciously. “President Jonathan has done well and served his country
well. He exits office as a great President; perhaps Nigeria’s greatest
President for all times. Greater than the best before him. He excelled in
achievements, in humility, tranquility and simplicity. “Nigerians misunderstood meekness for weakness, Restraint
for lack of strength, reticence for inaction and calmness for indecisiveness.” Okupe said that history would judge Jonathan differently,
adding that he(Jonathan) would “be remembered as a great man, a good man,
humble and humane, purposeful and focused. A great African hero who fought
against all manners of evil and conspiracies: Religious, ethnic, national and
international, and lost the war.</div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;">
<o:p> </o:p>“But ultimately, he triumphed because of the inherent
goodness that God Almighty deposited in Him.”The presidential aide urged Nigerians not to weep for
Jonathan but “rather pray that our nation will remain, united and stable; that
its people will prosper and that God will guide our incoming leaders.”</div>

<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;">
<a href="http://www.punchng.com/metro-plus/gunmen-abduct-oau-lecturer-kill-driver-demand-n70m/" target="_blank">Punch</a> correspondent gathered on Sunday that Omisore, a
lecturer at the Department of Environmental Design Management of the OAU was
abducted in Ado Ekiti, Ekiti State.His captors, who were said to be armed with guns, were said
to have trailed him for a while.The driver was said to have noticed them and tried to evade
the gang, but the abductors managed to waylay Omisore’s vehicle.On catching up with him, the hoodlums were said to have
killed the driver out of anger and took Omisore to an unknown place.The gunmen, it was further gathered, fired several shots at
the petrol tank of the lecturer’s car and ensured that the car caught fire
before they left the scene.The Chairman of the Academic Staff Union of Universities,
OAU chapter, Dr. Caleb Aborisade, confirmed the incident.</div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;">
Aborisade said, “According to the information I gathered
from his family, Dr. Femi Omisore was kidnapped on Friday evening. He was going
for a funeral ceremony in Oye Ekiti.“I learnt that a member of his department was burying his
father in Oye Ekiti and he was travelling there when he was kidnapped.“The kidnappers used his telephone to call his wife this
morning (Sunday) and they demanded N70m ransom.“We are not politicians; where do they expect us to get such
amount?”He appealed to Omsiore’s abductor to release the lecturer.</div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;">
He said the family was not rich and could not afford to pay
such a huge amount of money.The abduction was also confirmed to our correspondent on the
telephone by the Chairman of Academic Staff Union of Polytechnics, Osun State
Polytechnic, Iree chapter, Mr. Dotun Omisore.The union leader is a nephew of the abducted lecturer.The ASUP chairman expressed concern at the way lecturers and
members of their families were becoming targets of abduction.</div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;">
He called on the government and security agencies in the
country to do more to ensure security of lives and property of every Nigerian,
saying kidnapping was becoming too rampant.It will be recalled that gunmen had in December 2014
kidnapped the wife of ASUU Chairman, Osun State University chapter, Mrs.
Funmilayo Abiona.</div>
