Many Nigerian graduates are drivers, cooks in Dubai
The Allied
Congress Party of Nigeria has called on the Federal Government to make the
economy very attractive through job creation, saying such would discourage the
emigration of youths to Dubai, where he said many Nigerian graduates had turned
to drivers and cooks.
The National
Chairman of ACPN, Chief Olu Okunriboye, stated this in an interview with our
correspondent after the party’s National Executive Council meeting held in
Abuja.
The ACPN was
formed by the late Chief Abubakar Olusola Saraki, the renowned late godfather
of Kwara politics.
Okunriboye
said, “What we need to do is proper planning; good and qualitative education
and good medical facilities. Nigeria has a lot to do. Many Nigerians now go to
Malaysia, Singapore, China and Japan for greener pastures. Dubai was not a
strong country, but a small island before. They don’t have oil but today they
have too much money. Everybody go to Dubai and when you get there, we don’t pay
in Naira.
“Now, many
Nigerians have turned to drivers and cooks in Dubai to the extent that the
advertisement was placed in the newspapers. I am not saying that driving or
cooking is not good. We have a grade and level. They are all graduates and they
were pushed to that level because of unemployment. There is nothing wrong with
that. If Nigerians now could go to become drivers and cooks, tomorrow, they
will become conditions lesser.”

AGN President:Ibinabo Fiberisima Wins For The 2nd Time
Lawmakers Pass Vote of Confidence On Governor Obiano
The Anambra State House of Assembly has affirmed its faith
in the reforms of the state governor, Chief Willie Obiano with a unanimous
vote of confidence in the seven-month-old administration during its plenary at
the Legislative Complex, Awka.
In a motion moved by the Majority Leader, Chief Hafford
Okeke, representing Awka South II Constituency, the member drew the attention
of his colleagues to the gradual transformation of Anambra State into a secured
and stable state for investment from both local and foreign businessmen and
commended governor Obiano for making these possible.
Citing the return of sanity at Upper Iweka and relative
peace in parts of the state as a result of the governor Obiano security
initiatives, Mr. Okeke also noted the massive investments in agriculture,
development of the oil and gas sector and massive infrastructure and road
projects across the state as clear indications of a focused and performing
administration and called on the members to recognise and applaud the governor.
Seconding the motion, member representing Anambra East Constituency,
Mr. Obinna Emenaka said Governor Obiano has touched both human and physical
infrastructures in Anambra State within a few months in office.
This position was buttressed by other members, who supported
the motion, including the Chairman, House Committee on Information, Hon Paul
Onyeka and the Deputy Speaker, Prince Chukwudi Orizu, who eulogised the
governor for his giant strides in the area of security.
Also contributing to the motion, member representing Onitsha
North 1 Constituency, Mr. Chugbo Enwezor and his counterpart from Aguata 2
Constituency, Mr. Ikem Uzoezie said Obiano had re-enforced confidence of APGA
faithful that the future was bright for Ndi Anambra. They commended the
governor’s prudence as well as his managerial and financial drive for the
increase in the state’s Internally Generated Revenue (IGR) within a short span
from N400 million to a target of N1billion by the end of 2014.
In her contribution, member representing Nnewi South 2 Constituency,
Mrs. Rita Maduagwu lauded Governor Obianos’ state-of-the-art crime prevention
and security strategy, which she noted had secured many parts of Anambra from
the grip of kidnappers and armed robbers and called on members to commend and
support the governor in order to achieve more. Several other contributors praised
the governor for his landmark achievements that had energised the citizens
across party lines to once more openly express optimism in the growth and
progress of the state.
Following the preponderance of positive contributions and
support for the motion, Speaker of the Anambra State House of Assembly,
Princess Chinwe Nwaebili read out the submissions on the motion for vote of
confidence on Governor of Anambra State, Chief Willie Obiano as passed.
Following the overwhelming passage of the motion, lawmakers,
after plenary agreed to pay a solidarity visit to Governor Obiano to convey
their position. At the Governors’ Lodge, the Speaker, Princess Nwaebili, told
Obiano that the visit was to express solidarity and unalloyed support for him
for his good works.
Said the Speaker: “Your Excellency, only this afternoon, a
classic motion endorsing and commending your administration was unanimously
moved and passed by the members of the House of Assembly. In the motion, all
members spoke extensively on your unparalleled achievements in the areas of
security, road, agriculture, internally-generated revenue etc. The House
marveled that you were able to achieve so much in just under eight months.
“Our meeting with you this evening is to further re-assure
you that the entire members of the House, irrespective of party affiliations,
are in support of your good works and to ask you to ignore planted news stories
on the net by disgruntled politicians who would want to distract you.”
Princess Nwaebili warned detractors against creating disaffection
between the executive and legislative arms, saying the lawmakers would stoutly
resist any external influence to that effect. She pointed out that the House
was not unmindful of moves by enemies of progress to ruin the good working
relationship and collaboration between the two arms and said any attempt to
cause disaffection would fail woefully. The Speaker urged the governor to
ignore planted news reports on the internet and other distractive tendencies
by detractors.
“Let me assure you that in matters connected with the
development of the state, the House is non-partisan and will always speak with
one voice. And to the extent that you continue along the lines you are
presently toeing, we, as true representatives of Ndi Anambra will continue to
be with you.
“Nobody, I repeat nobody among the Hon. members and staff is
harbouring ill feelings against you and any external influence that tries to
cause disaffection between you and the House will be stoutly resisted and will
fail woefully,” Princess Nwaebili assured. She enjoined Governor Obiano to
maintain his style of good governance as the people were totally behind him.
Responding, governor Obiano thanked the Honourable members
for the vote of confidence and support of his administration.
He noted that the members of the House had remained consistent
and dedicated in giving the people of the State quality representation and
assured them that his government would not derail in achieving set goals.

Chaos in Onitsha as Police set ablaze suspected MASSOB hide-out
ONITSHA, the commercial city of Anambra State was yesterday
thrown into confusion after the Police in the state set ablaze a building at
Okpoko Layout, which the operatives described as a hide-out for members of the
Movement for Actualization of Sovereign State of Biafra, MASSOB.
But the owner of the house, Mr. Ikechukwu Agude and his
family, faulted Police claims, lamenting that the force had ruined them, saying
the house was never a MASSOB hideout.
Agude said: “We don’t have any business with MASSOB members
here because they use another building behind ours as their office. I was
surprised to hear that our house was set ablaze by the police when I went to
work yesterday. My wife went to school because she is a teacher, including my
daughter, Onyinye while my first son also went out to his workplace. I have
lived in that house since 2006 even before MASSOB came and occupied the house
behind mine. That house was the only thing I have in this world, including my
family. What has been lost is over N10 million. Governor Willie Obiano
should come to our rescue please.”
Counsel to Mr. Agude, Chris Okoro, while reacting, said “We
understand the governor is cleansing the state but that does not mean setting
ablaze people’s property. The suspected MASSOB members involved should be
arrested and interrogated to know their mind. The law should be followed to
avoid harming the innocent. The entire process of burning houses is wrong”.
First son of Mr. Agude, Chika, while lamenting the incident,
said: “I am finished. My whole certificates from my primary to tertiary
institutions have all gone. My mother has developed high blood pressure and now
she is in hospital.
“MASSOB office is behind our building and they left it and
set our own ablaze while we have all gone to work, including my father, who is
a driver at Onitsha South Council Area. As it is now, the family has no other
alternative place to live as we have been rendered homeless”.
Also his sister, Onyinye declared: “Our first building was
demolished by Power Holding Company of Nigeria in 2011 because they said our
house was near the high tension but when my father built it, the high tension
was not there. Today, the one he built after the demolition of the other one
has also been demolished and this time by the police.”
Also reacting, Mazi Chris Mocha, the Personal Assistant to
MASSOB Leader, Chief Uwazuruike, dismissed police claims, saying the house was
not occupied by MASSOB members but another Igbo Organization known as Igbo
Ga-adinma, which was set up by politicians to fight MASSOB”.
However, Vanguard gathered that the police squad,
led by Onitsha Police Area Commander, Mr. Benjamin Wordu, in company of two
Divisional Police Officers, DPOs of Okpoko and Fegge, Mr. Emeka Ugwu and Rabiu
Garba, stormed the building and set it ablaze.
The source claimed that a gun and some bags of substances
believed to be Indian hemp were recovered from the house before it was set
ablaze.
The house, police alleged had been used by MASSOB members as
their base, where innocent people were allegedly tortured and extorted.

Camilla Parker-Bowles Caught in Drug Scandal: Queen Elizabeth Reacts, Best Friend Tells All (PHOTO)
Camilla Parker-Bowles, the wife of Prince Charles and
daughter-in-law of Queen Elizabeth, is easily the most hated woman in England.
Then again, it is tough to like a woman who is so wretched that she harasses Kate Middleton while she is pregnant, refuses to divorce Prince Charles unless she receives a
multi-million dollar payout form the Royal family, and the 67 year old
wife of Charles has even gone as far as to try and trick the Queen of England
into handing over her crown.
According to
the October 27th cover of GLOBE Magazine, Camilla Parker-Bowles can add drug scandals to
the lengthy list of reasons the people of England despise her. The cover of
this week’s edition screams “Best Friend Tells All: Camilla Caught In Drug Scandal.”
We’re not sure which is more shocking, the fact that Camilla wascaught up in
a drug scandal, or that she actually has a friend. GLOBE Magazine is
written by research journalists who never shy away from writing controversial
articles and exposing shocking scandals, like drugs somehow involved with
the Royal family. Can you imagine how ailing Queen Elizabeth will react to
Camilla’s latest affront to royal dignity? The monarch certainly has suffered
enough with Camilla but this might just be too much for Elizabeth to bear.
The October
27th cover of GLOBE Magazine also reveals that readers can expect some in-depth
answers in this week’s magazine surrounding the mysterious death of TV legend
Andy Griffith and his controversial rapid burial. The cover reads, “Andy
Griffith Death Mystery Solved: Why Wife Buried Him Four Hours After
His Death, Secret Grave Found.” GLOBE readers can also check out exclusive
pictures of Andy Griffith’s grave site, and the cover also teases a piece of
Hillary Clinton’s possible run for president.
So, what do
you think about Camilla Parker-Bowles’ drug scandal, is she doing drugs,
selling drugs, an ex-drug addict or does it involve a relative?
