Rape scandal: Stephanie Okereke's brother tells his own version of the story

Last month, Daniel Okereke was arrested for allegedly raping a Unilag student ..She claims he tied her up, beat her and raped her. This is his own version of what happened...Read the press release below

"It took me a while to react to these baseless allegations about my good self because I had to investigate to know if it was truly me they were referring to or someone was impersonating me. I wouldn’t have responded but for the numerous innocent readers who may have been misled by this untrue publications which was never verified before going public. I thought that balanced reportage had to do with getting both sides of the story. What happened between me and my estranged friend was a case of a woman who claimed she was heartbroken because she discovered I am in a very serious relationship.

She flared up when she realized and started demanding that I must settle her since I was not taking her seriously not to talk of marrying her. She demanded for two million naira (N2m) and a Toyota Yaris car as settlement else she would scandalize my name and that I know I wouldn’t want that since according to her I come from a popular and wealthy background. I took it as one of those empty threats until I now read about this complete sham about my good self.
How can someone say you were beaten up by seven (7) guards before canal knowledge of you prevailed? Someone who claimed she was sick? She must be a female wrestler in the WWE (The World Wrestling Entertainment) for such measures to be required before a strong tall guy like me will need to force her to have canal knowledge of her. Someone who claimed she was raped could also muscle out strength to destroy my properties in front of the so alleged seven guards? If I were a nobody would she be priding in saying I allegedly raped her? I know that the thought of possessing me is your dream but you didn’t need to go this shameless way.
Those that may have advised you to do this (if any) gave you the worst advice ever because you can’t have me through cheap blackmail. Let me make it crystal clear that there was never a case of rape nor assault. I have decided not to reveal more shocking details on this sad episode because her family initiated peace moves towards mine and I strongly believe in the biblical saying “to err is human but to forgive is divine”. In a country where people can use some sections of the media to publish unverified stories of even the highest offices in the land, then who am I to bother if such crude treatment is meted out to a rising star like me. Must we continue to destroy our very best because we have a very few media platforms that are willing tools to be used. This is sad and unkind.

Why will they want to bring in a respected elder stateswoman Prof. Ndi Okereke-Onyiuke, OON, into an issue where the alleged accused is an adult who should take full responsibility of his actions and in-actions. A woman who worked tirelessly day and night to develop the Nigerian Capital Market and by extension the Nigerian economy which in turn put food on the tables of millions of Nigerians and beyond. During her tenure as the DG of the Nigerian Stock Exchange, the Capital Market was bountiful and prospered as never before. She is an institution in this country and should please not be dragged into trivial issues like this. She should be respected as such.

Thank you all for doing so.

I appeal to those sections of the media that publish unverified stories to please verify before going public because they have the tools to make or mar peoples’ images. I hope that all the respected media sources that publicized this untrue story will be kind enough to do a retraction. God bless you as you do so. I thank all those that called me and sent text messages and said we know you did not do those things. I also thank those who do not know me that said negative things about me, and the reasons are obvious – they do not know me. My humble advice to them is not to thrive on hearsay but facts because it is me today; no one knows whose turn it might be tomorrow. Thank you for reading. God bless us all and Merry Christmas.

Signed..
PRINCE DANIEL OKEREKE

Hayes accused Moseley of having multiple affairs with various other entertainers. She was a backup dancer who worked with numerous famous singers, including Chris Brown and Usher, but we’re told Hayes never mentioned them as a source of conflict.
Hayes and Moseley married in 2008 and his friends say he loved her and tried rationalizing staying together.TMZ broke the story … Floyd Mayweather was on FaceTime with Hayes when he flew into a rage over Moseley’s alleged infidelity and the boxer was witness to the murder/suicide.For many reasons we really, really, REALLY, hope this isn’t true. Interesting facts : Top 4 ways more sex can help your career

Your sex life has a great impact on your work positively or negatively — attitude, productivity, satisfaction, etc. and the benefits spill to your career.Sex for many people is just for procreation while it is just for physical pleasure to others. While both categories are right, many people are not aware of the far-reaching effects of that simple coital connection between two people (and masturbation too).
Sex can give you rewards beyond the tsunamic-ogasms and the feeling of satisfaction that comes with a good round of sweating, tumbling and bed sheet rumpling.Truth is that your sex life has a great impact on your work positively or negatively — attitude, productivity, satisfaction, etc.

Yes, the benefits sex can spill to your career and here are 4 ways this happens:

1 More sex, more money = A research from the Institute for the Study of Labor people who have sex at least four times a week make more money than their peers with less sexual activity. The simple connection here is that with more sex, you are happier and more relaxed so you are more effective and healthier and this means you do your work better, take better decisions and earn higher income.

2 More sex, less health problems, more work done = Sex has been severally identified as a major stress reduction agent. It has been said that frequent orgasms can increase life expectancy significantly. A sex starved person is usually snappy and ineffective at work.

3 More sex, more confidence. Sex helps you get an extra boost of confidence = Perhaps this is why most womanizers (playboys) are often as successful in business as they are at work. So having sex before heading for a meeting often might not be a bad idea. Have you wondered why older men keep very young ladies as girlfriends? Think again.

4 More sex, more brain power. During sex, Oxytocin is released = Now, oxytocin is an important pain relief and it has been labeled that “love hormone.” Having this natural pain reliever in your body — released via constant sex, can mean less migraine at work and of course more freedom for your brain to do productive thinking.

So next time you think about sex, think of it beyond the bedroom experience. And next time you see a sloppy individual, you might not be wrong to assume he or she is sex starved.
So, get closer with your partner and get your career back on track with sex boost.

ISIS behead four children in Iraq after they refuse to convert to Islam

File pic

Barbaric Islamic State militants have beheaded four Christian children in Iraq for refusing to convert to Islam, according to a British vicar based in Baghdad.Cannon Andrew White claims the beheading took place in a Christian enclave close to Baghdad which has been recently overrun by Islamic State.Cannon White, who has been ordered by the Archbishop of Canterbury to leave Iraq for his own safety, is one of only a handful of Christian leaders in the country.
He said: “Things were bad in Baghdad, there were bombs and shootings and our people were being killed, so many of our people fled back to Nineveh, their traditional home.“It was safer, but then one day, ISIS – Islamic State. They came in and they hounded all of them out. They killed huge numbers, they chopped their children in half, they chopped their heads off, and they moved north and it was so terrible what happened.”Islamic State forced Christians to convert to Islam on pain of death, he said. “They came to one of our people the other day, one of the Christians.
“They said to one man, an adult, ‘Either you say the words of conversion to Islam or we kill all your children’.“He was desperate, he said the words. And then he phoned, me and said, ‘Abouna [Father], I said the words, does that mean that Yesua [Jesus] doesn’t love me any more?’ I said, ‘Yesua still loves you, he will always loves you.’”He also told of the fate of a group of Christian young people.Speaking to the Orthodox Christian Network, he said: “Islamic State turned up and said to the children, you say the words that you will follow Mohammed.“The children, all fewer than 15, four of them, said no, we love Yesua, we have always loved Yesua, we have always followed Yesua, Yesua has always been with us.“They said, ‘Say the words.’ They said, ‘No, we can’t.’ They chopped all their heads off. How do you respond to that? You just cry.”Via.mirror uk

Kidnap gang cut off victim's finger and sent it to his family in £60,000 ransom demand

Gruesome: The blood-stained van in which the victim was tortured.

A gang who grabbed a man off the street at gunpoint and cut off his finger as part of a brutal ransom demand has been found guilty of kidnapping. The three men were part of a 10-strong mob that pulled the victim off the street and demanded £60,000 from his frantic family to free him.Seven gang members had already admitted their involvement when they appeared at Lamington Justice Centre last month, but Ralph McLeod, Lewis Poyser and Yusuf Akbar all denied the charges.
Today the three men were found guilty of blackmail, unlawful imprisonment and wounding after a four-week trial.
The Coventry Telegraph told how all 10 defendants have been remanded into custody and will appear back at court for sentencing on January 23.The 26-year-old victim was bundled into the back of a van at gunpoint by three men wearing balaclavas in Milverton Road, Wood End, Coventry, on September 30 last year, as he was talking to friends. He was beaten and kicked and taken to a lock-up garage where he was left bound and gagged with a bag over his head in a van, without food or water, throughout his ordeal. The man’s family was contacted and a ransom of £60,000 was demanded, but when they didn’t respond quickly enough, the gang cut off the man’s little finger and left it under a brick on a garden wall for his family to find.
Speaking after the court case, Det Chf Insp Simon Wallis, of West Midlands Police, said: “The family was understandably distraught at the thought of what else could happen to their loved one and immediately paid a ransom of £20,000.“The victim was thrown out of the back of the van later that night on McDonnell Drive, after being kept in a garage where he had been severely kicked and beaten with a metal bar throughout his 36-hour ordeal.”The man was taken to hospital for treatment and two hours later armed police swooped on a house in Long ford where several men were arrested for the kidnap. The cash, all except for a few pounds, was recovered from the address.
Four of the defendants, Anthony McLeod, Kofi Poyser, Lewis Poyser and Lemar Grant will also be sentenced for their part in a brutal assault on a man outside a Coventry nightclub on June 30, which was captured on CCTV.In the early hours of that morning, after leaving Clique nightclub in Silver Street, the group beat a 26-year-old man unconscious, stamping and kicking his head into a brick wall. The four pleaded guilty to the assault earlier this year and sentencing was deferred so that the details of the attack could be used as bad character in the kidnap trial.
Kofi Poyser, 23, of Dove dale Avenue, Long ford, Kadeem Poyser, 31, of Browning Road, Wyken, Ricardo Grant, 24, of Watcombe Road, Henley Green, and Lamar Grant, 26, and Jermaine Campbell, 24, both of Broad Park Road, Henley Green, pleaded guilty to kidnap, possession of a firearm whilst committing a schedule one offence, unlawful imprisonment, blackmail and Section 18 wounding.Anthony McLeod, 34, of Sycamore Road, Aldermans Green, and Ismaeel Akbar, 32, of Kingsbury Road, Tipton, pleaded guilty to unlawful imprisonment, blackmail and Section 18 wounding.Ralph McLeod, 37, and Lewis Poyser, 24, both of Belmont Road, Paradise, and Yusuf Akbar, 33, of Wynn Street, Birmingham, were found guilty of unlawful imprisonment, blackmail and Section 18 wounding. Half of Women Won’t Let Partners See Them Without Make-up for a Year. Really?

54 per cent of women won't let their partner see them without makeup until they've been dating for 12 months, new results suggest.
It may come as a surprise, but a survey of women aged between 18 and 30 revealed that over half (54 per cent) would not let their partners see them without cosmetics (tinted moisturiser included) until they’d hit the 12 month mark.
Interestingly, when it came to baring their bodies, women were a lot more confident, with 51 per cent admitting they would be happy to shed their clothes after just six months.“We were shocked to find out so many women feel so insecure about their skin that they would hide behind their make-up for such a long length of time,” said Maxine Flint, owner of skincare brand Flint + Flint, who conducted the survey.“We would have expected less body confidence than skin shyness.”

What do you think about the survey results? Do they ring true among your circle of friends?

My top 5 Nollywood Actresses 2014 by Charles Novia

Charles Novia has released his Best Actresses list 2014. He published on his blog..I must state that you may not find your popular fav's on this list..Read below"May I state here that these actresses on this list have been judged on universal templates for acting and not on what I term ‘perceived popularity ‘on red carpets, social media or feisty fan clubs. There is a clear difference between being an overt socialite with tepid performances in afterthought movies ‘just to be relevant’ and wholeheartedly taking the business of acting seriously."

1. NSE Ikpe Etim

And my Number One Actress would be Nse Ikpe Etim (martially known as Nse Sule). And why wouldn’t she be? Having watched her in three movies released in 2014, there was little one could fault in her powerful sense of interpretation, internalization and ‘chameleonic’ characterization in the movies ‘Devil in the detail’, ‘ I Come Lagos’ and ‘Purple Rose’.To the trained eye, when an actress does her research, it is easy and quite a pleasure to watch that thespian mesmerize the audience. Nse falls in that category of silent but sure actresses whose works speak more for her than anything else. In ‘Devil in the Detail’, she gives us a self-assured portrayal of a wife whose fidelity is called to question by her suspicious husband. Nse’s nuances, dramatic pause and body language in the role leaves one awe-struck. This is a lady who knows her onions.

2.Onyeka Onwenu

Despite my reservations about the film adaptation of ‘Half of a Yellow Sun’, one of the delightful comforts for me from the movie was Onyeka Onwenu’s fantastic role as ‘Mama’. With an elegant career in music which has spanned over thirty years, Onyeka’s moonlighting to Nollywood seems to have finally found its artistic rewards in HOAYS.Her mannerisms, facial expressions, voice modulations and characterization as an over-protective mother are all almost flawless in the movie. It’s as if in HOAYS, she set out to prove a point and only the blind would argue that she did not achieve her artistic aim. It must be quite a fulfilling experience to straddle, and arguably successfully too, two important sectors of Nigerian Entertainment; music and movies. Onyeka Onwenu deserves our commendation. Well, at least she has mine!

3.Omoni Oboli

Two movies which featured Omoni Oboli were enough to convince me that Omoni deserves to be on this list. They are ‘Render to Ceaser’ and ‘Being Mrs Elliott’. Watching the two movies, I could appreciate various levels of Omoni’s acting abilities. Artistically, she come across sometimes as being restrained in her delivery in some roles but she more than makes up for these pardonable inhibitions by her powerful ability to really, really act with her face. Her facial expressions reveal the right emotions which her lines try to convey. Few actors can achieve that in Nollywood as what we see mostly these days are bland expressions in the delivery of interpretative dialogue. But it is in ‘Being Mrs Elliott’ that Omoni comes out smoking. Her character has various levels of emotional and perhaps repressed comical transitions and Omoni delivers when it matters most in aspects of such artistic requirement. A wardrobe malfunction at the Presidential Villa during a special premiere and the buzz it created made me curious to watch the movie and while aspects of its directorial ambitions were a bit arrested, one was not disappointed much by Omoni’s acting in the movie. Indeed, she gave her best in the movie. And her best is good enough to be on this list.

4 Queen Nwokoye

More-often-than-not, many tend to dismiss the ‘Asabawood’ genre of movies as crass, without structure and lacking in linear progression of plots. While a lot of movies from that axis, juxtaposed with the so-called ‘New Nollywood’ movies, can be a critic’s nightmare to watch, there is no denying that a few actors and actresses in that genre of movies have given us some performances which deserve applause. Queen Nwokoye is one of such worthy of mention for 2014. Whilst researching a bit more on her movies for 2014, I was authoritatively told that she is presently the most commercial actress in the Asaba movies, ever since Mercy Johnson went on maternity leave, with her movies selling in the millions. While such information does little to influence my artistic evaluation of her acting prowess, it was certainly important enough for me to file away in my memory bank that Queen must have something which appeals to the buying audience of such films. After watching her in a spawn of top-selling Asaba movies in 2014, I understood why.

5.Kemi Lala Akinboju

A lot of readers might not have seen Tunde Kelani’s ‘Dazzling Mirage’, a film in which Lala Akindoju plays a young, frail sickle cell patient, Funmiwo. I watched the movie at a film festival in November and I was impressed with Lala’s portrayal of the lead character. A true-to-type physical casting by the Director first draws some empathy from the audience towards Lala and as she goes through the emotional and physical demands of the movie, the viewer is taken in by Lala’s internalization of the character as we begin to see and understand what it is to be a Sickle Cell victim. Of course there were tentative moments when Lala seemed not to have fully measured up to the dictates of the role but one could also appreciate that those moments were few and far between. In ‘Dazzling Mirage’, the viewer laughs with her, cries with her, feels her pains and many could very well finish watching the movie believing that Lala is a Sickle Cell sufferer in real life. Such a performance should not go unnoticed.Kemi Lala Akindoju, in her first major role in a feature length, is one to watch out for in the future.

Adorable Photos as two Lions dance together

These two lions appear to have turned the savannah into the Blackpool Tower Ballroom, as they waltz cheek to cheek. The pair was caught as they rose on their hind legs, pressing their paws together at just the right moment. The lion-dancing predators were seen practicing their footwork in the Samburu National Park in Kenya. He said: 'I captured the shot as the lions charged and jumped at each other.'I didn't know I'd caught the dance until we got back to camp - I was thrilled to have captured them dancing.'Lions are such beautiful animals - I want people to be able to see the lions in the wild where they should be able to roam free.

Update on two young boys that was abducted by a maid from their home in Lagos

More details about the incident is out, courtesy PUNCH.
The 24-year-old housemaid had fled home with the kids –Rafael (3), and 15-month-old Michael– on Sunday evening after their parents went out around 6pm. The kids’ mother, Mrs. Onajite Esharegharan, and her husband, Elvis, had decided to go for a shopping on the fateful day in celebration of the latter’s birthday. It was learnt that the couple had instructed Juliet, who hails from Osun State, to lull the kids to sleep before they left home.
PUNCH Metro further learnt that Juliet, the children, their grandmother and her nurse ─ who also lives in the house ─ were in the sitting room watching television, when the generator went off. It was said that the elderly woman and the nurse decided to retire to their respective rooms, while Juliet went upstairs with the children. It was when the couple came back home that the household discovered that the housemaid had sneaked out with the children. It was gathered that Onajite secured the service of the fleeing housemaid last Tuesday through a sale portal, OLX, where a visitor, identified simply as Omolade, advertised .
Omolade had allegedly posted a number on the website for those who were interested in a “humble” housemaid to apply ─ an advertisement to which Onajite responded.   It was learnt that Omolade eventually took Juliet to Onajite’s office.PUNCH visited the couple at the Unity Estate, Ojodu, where Onajite’s aunt lives. Onajite said:“After we came back from the church, the children looked tired and I told Juliet to take Michael to bed while I went to do my hair. He had not slept when I came back. That day (Sunday) was my husband’s birthday and we decided to have a couple’s outing. We told her to take the children to bed immediately because they were very tired.

We got back home at 9pm. It was Abigail, the nurse that opened the door for us. When we entered, everywhere was quiet and that was when my husband became suspicious because usually, our children would have run from upstairs to say welcome. She probably deceived the kids that she was taking them to their mum. Her telephone line and that of Omolade have been switched off since yesterday (Sunday). We lodged complaints at the Isheri Police Station and the Department of State Service. The police said it was beyond their capacity, but the DSS promised to track the housemaid down.”Elvis, a businessman, said: “We just hope nothing is going to happen to them. We do not have any specific suspicion as to where she took them to.”Onajite’s aunt, Mrs. Tina Obajuwana, said she was amazed by the housemaid’s action despite her calm look.“When she was introduced to me on Saturday, I thought she would be a good woman. She looked gentle and hardly could anyone think she is evil,” she said.

Read how Indian hemp seller butchered widow, son & daughter in Lagos

If Mrs Helen Okoro, a widow and mother of two had known that picking a quarrel with a neighbor who had stabbed her son would also land her and daughter in hospital, she probably would have just reported the case and allowed the law to do justice. She told Leadership
“We live at Adidas street, Tolu, at the shores of Tolu- Tin can lagoon. Last year, Babalawo had a problem with my son, Godwin who is just 15 -years-old. One day, Godwin was carrying sand for somebody and Babalawo saw him, picked up a bottle and attempted to break my son’s head with it but he was able to escape and ran away from him. When I heard about the incident, I confronted him but instead of making peace he threatened to kill me and my children. So since then we have avoided him. What led to the problem on November 14th was that I found a pair of slippers in the dustbin and wanted to use it to make a fire. Babalawo saw the slippers with Godwin and challenged him.
My son told him they belonged to his mother because I brought it from the dustbin. The wicked and shameless man broke a bottle and gave my son a hot pursuit. When he apprehended him, he stabbed him in the head. People were begging the man to leave the little boy alone but to no avail. When I returned home I was faced with that situation. When I inquired why he should stab my son, he threatened to kill me. He wore the necklace I gave my son, so I removed it from his neck after he struggled with me to retain it. To my greatest surprise, he picked up a bottle and after smashing it stabbed me close to my breast. I screamed that the man had killed me and as he wanted to stab me in the face, I blocked the bottle with my hand.”
“There was blood all over my body. I thought I was going to die. I could not bear the pains so I cried like a baby. I was screaming and rolling in the pool of my blood until somebody called my daughter, Blessing who rushed back home. On seeing me, she cried, thinking that the man had killed me.”The man is a known Indian hemp seller in the area. He knew I had nobody to run to. He knew I’m from a very poor family. He believed he would kill me and members of my family and nothing will happen. From what has happened so far, if this man kills me and members of my family the police will not do anything.”

On filing a complaint

“Policemen at Tolu police station have taken sides” They were protecting the man and he kept boasting that the policemen there were on his payroll. He might be right, because the Investigative Police Officer (IPO) who is handling the case is doing the wrong thing. He refused to make an arrest and the suspect is walking free. The IPO did not include his name in the statement form. The woman and her daughter in Femi Hospital, Bale street, Tolu Olodi- Apapa, in tears, lamenting their agony and humiliation. Their blood pressure ran high, not because of what the man did to them but from how to raise N200, 000 (Two Hundred Thousand Naira) bills the hospital had just presented to them.
Also, instead of rushing me and my daughter to the general hospital, they abandoned us at Femi Hospital, Bale Street, Tolu, Olodi -Apapa. The medical director of the hospital (Olufemi Ekanado) told my daughter and I to pay N200, 000 before they could discharge us. My daughter’s bill is N80,000 while mine is N120, 000. I’m a widow and a petty trader. I hawk sachet water, so how can I raise such amount of money? All the money we have at home is about N20, 000 both my money and that of my daughter. My daughter persuaded the doctor to allow her go home and bring the little cash but he refused, saying we must pay all the money. We have been held captive here since November 14, this year when the incident occurred. The man who inflicted the injury in us did not even come to say sorry. He never cared whether we survive or die. But God will pay him back.”

“I would like either the Federal government or governor Babatunde Fashola-led government to rescue us from this problem. I know Fashola is a very good and kind Governor. He should see us as members of his family and assist us.”Her daughter, 19 year old Blessing, an SSS 2 student of Ojoku Senior High School, Tolu, Olodi- Apapa said, “Unless there is no law in Nigeria and unless all poor Nigerians can never get justice, then this man will go scot-free. Everybody in the area knows Babalawo is a very wicked man and Indian hemp seller. Police are shielding him because he usually goes to the station to ‘settle’ them. Government should step in, arrest and prosecute this man for multiple attempted murder.”When Leadership visited Adidas street, close to Tolu -Tincan Lagoon, people seemed to be afraid to say anything concerning Babalawo. They either responded thus: “Please go, I don’t know who you are talking about,” or “Please, I don’t know who you are. Go and search for Babalawo yourself”.Meanwhile, Leadership went to the station to see the divisional police officer of the station, SP Mohammed Aminu, but he was available. All efforts made to get the reaction of the State police spokesperson, DSP Ken Nwosu proved abortive as he did not respond to calls.

Homosexual murders partner in Abuja hotel room- Photo

A suspected gay, Mohammed Snu, has been murdered by his partner, Mohammed Umar, inside a hotel room in Garki, Abuja. Snu died after he was stabbed multiple times in the ribs with a screw driver by Umar last Thursday.
The deceased, who was a regular guest at the hotel, was said to have invited Umar for sex, but their romance went sour when Snu refused to pay his partner for the second round of sex.
A source in the hotel told PUNCH Metro that the two men had sex twice, but Snu allegedly refused to pay for the second round, which led to a scuffle.

The source said:

“The man had just come back from a mosque where he went for prayers with his partner when we heard a loud noise from his room and a voice saying ‘ya kuri (please, don’t be angry)’. By the time we forced the door open, we saw Umar standing naked and Snu lying dead on the bed with stab injuries on his body. We immediately called the police and Umar was arrested.”
PUNCH Metro learnt that the police came back later and whisked away the hotel manager for interrogation. The incident was said to have generated uproar around the Garki neighborhood, as residents gathered in clusters to discuss the tragedy. Policemen from the FCT Command came in a white pick-up van and took the corpse away. They also drove away his white Mercedes salon car with Abuja registration number, KUJ 883 AQ, which was parked on the hotel premises. The FCT Police Public Relations Officer, Peter Okechukwu, who confirmed the incident, explained that the deceased invited the suspect to massage him in his hotel room, saying he had pains in his ribs. He said: “In the course of the massage, Snu asked Umar to undress for sex, and from there, they engaged in a scuffle leading to the stabbing of the deceased by the suspect. It was the loud noise from their room that attracted the hotel workers. When our men got to the hotel, we found the deceased and the suspect naked. Investigations have commenced and we will soon know what actually transpired behind the closed door.”
