A Holly Hill man was sentenced to five years in prison after
being convicted of living with a body.Todd Christopher LaDuke, 39, was convicted of two felony
counts of child neglect and a misdemeanor count for failing to report a body to
the medical examiner.LaDuke was arrested last Halloween along with co-defendant
Nicole Scalise after investigators discovered the body of Tiffany Kain, 33, in
her bedroom.Officials said she had been dead for at least three weeks.LaDuke and Scalise were living off her Social Security
money, according to investigators.Police were responding to a well-being check on Kain, who
suffered from spina bifida and multiple sclerosis, neighbors said.The Agency for Persons with Disabilities contacted police
after they failed to reach her.LaDuke and Scalise were living across the hall in another
bedroom with a 6-year-old and a 11-year-old children in deplorable conditions,
investigators added.Police reports say that both defendants had clear knowledge
of the obvious odor and were living without water and illegally obtaining
electrify by bypassing the meter by using jumpers.There was also evidence of animal feces and urine throughout
