University of Maiduguri to resume despite Boko Haram threats



  University of Maiduguri staff and students have been asked to return to school on 2nd of March for the second semester of its 2014/2015 academic session despite apprehension and security threat posed by Boko Haram.
  The institutions Chief Information Officer, Malam Ahmed Mohammed, said academic activities will start in earnest on the announced date as scheduled in the school's calendar.

  " This is to inform all students, parents, guardians and staff that the University of Maiduguri will reopen for the second semester, 2014/2015 academic session on Monday March 2, 2015 as contained in the university's calendar," Accordingly, lectures will resume on the same day while examinations will begin on June 22,2015.
 The Nigerian Army has in recent weeks repelled several daring attempts to take over the capital city, Maiduguri. Also , yesterday , a suicide attack carried out by a female bomber left at least 7 people dead in Biu town of Borno State.
