A new N100 note, in commemoration of Nigeria’s 100-year
celebration, will be unveiled by President Goodluck Jonathan today.
A statement by the CBN read in part, “The choice of the N100
denomination is to mark the centenary celebration of Nigeria and is consistent
with best global practices for central banks around the world during the
celebration of national events.
“Part of the features of the commemorative banknote is the
inscription of the theme of the centenary celebration: ‘One Nigeria, Great
Promise’ as a micro-text.
“While retaining the portrait of the late Chief Obafemi
Awolowo on the front, the new note features Nigerian traditional dancers at the
back. The commemorative note comes in different dominant colours.”
Jane are you sure of that? We will wait and see.
ReplyDeleteIt's a good idea, but it will be best for our president to start thinking of how to make our currency more valuable.
ReplyDeleteAll this currency change isn't the matter.. Tackle insecurity in the country with all we have... thot we going cashless, printing or introducing new note sounds like making a legacy to me... And that's the least of our P right now...
